Our Story

We’re Sean and Eloise. We’ve lived in Uig on the Isle of Lewis for nine years with our four kids. We make Wild Isle bone broth and tallow balm, look after a few cattle, and we’re building a small home on the croft.

We don’t live on-site yet—the foundations are in, and we’re paying for the rest as we go. Because it’s croft land (and we want it to stay that way), a conventional mortgage isn’t a fit. So we’re funding the build by offering something useful to people who already love coming here: time in a simple, well-made place to stay.

Why a “basecamp”

We’re setting up an insulated yurt by the dunes: en-suite, wood stove, good beds, a quiet spot to return to after a day outside. Winter has dark skies and weather worth watching; summer has long light and easy beach days. It’s a practical base for repeat trips, not a once-only splash.

Why a prize draw (and a few founder places)

Rather than take on a big loan, we’d rather pre-sell time. The prize draw gives a few people long-term access at a great nightly rate; the founder option lets others secure the same thing outright. Every entry and founder place turns directly into timber, insulation, pipework and the other unglamorous bits a small house needs.

What you can expect from us

If you decide to take part—by entering, sharing the link, or becoming a founder—thank you. You’ll have a reliable place to land in the islands, and you’ll help us turn a foundation into a finished home.
