What can I win?
Two Main Winners each get 25 nights every year for 5 years (125 nights total) at our dune-side yurt on the Isle of Lewis (sleeps 4, en-suite, wood stove).
A third Bonus Winner is drawn from our separate Referrers’ Bonus Draw (see below) and receives the same 5-year placement. Travel and other costs are not included.

Who can enter?
UK residents aged 18+ only. One natural person per account. Proof of age, identity, and UK address may be required within 14 days of request or the prize may be forfeited.

How much are tickets and how many can I buy?
Tickets are £3 each. You can buy up to 100 tickets per person in total (including any free postal entries).

When does it run?
Opens 1 January 2026. Closes no later than 28 February 2027 (may close earlier if our operational entry cap is reached). Winners will be drawn by 28 February 2027.

How do I enter online?
Add a ticket to your basket, answer the skill question correctly, and check out. You’ll receive a confirmation and an entry number.

Is there a free entry route?
Yes. Send a hand-written postcard with your full name, UK address, email, phone, the competition name (“Hebridean Basecamp Prize Draw”), and your answer to the skill question to:

One free entry per stamped envelope. Must be received by 21 February 2027. Free entries are logged and treated the same as paid entries. Free entries cannot be refunded.

How does the Referrers’ Bonus Draw work?
Share your personal referral link (shown in the on-site panel). When a friend completes a qualifying Main Draw entry (paid entry not refunded within 14 days, or a validated free postal entry), you earn one Bonus Draw entry. These entries go into a separate bonus draw for an extra 5-year placement and do not affect the odds in the Main Prize Draw.

Can I get a refund?
Yes—within 14 days of purchase (cooling-off period). After 14 days, entries are final. Refunded entries are removed from the draw; linked bonus entries may be voided.

How are winners chosen?
At random from eligible entries using a verifiable computer process. The draw will be filmed or independently witnessed. We’ll contact winners within 7 days of the draw by email/phone.

What if the draw closes early?
We may close the promotion once our entry cap is reached. All valid entries received up to that point are included. An early close does not reduce the number of prizes.

What are the booking rules if I win?

• Summer weeks: Each January we run a simple allocation draw to set the order in which winners (and any Founders) pick one 7-night summer block.
• Rest of year: Flexible booking subject to availability and minimum stays (typically 3 nights off-peak).
• Gifting: You can gift nights within each year (no commercial resales).
• Capacity: Up to 4 people (double bed + trundles). Sensible tent pitching may be allowed on request.
• Use it or lose it: Nights must be used each year (no rollover), so you’ll always have a reason to return.
• House rules: Simple rules apply—no parties, no smoking indoors, and please respect the croft, neighbours, and wildlife. A refundable security deposit may be requested.

Can I give my whole prize to someone else?
No. You can gift individual nights within each prize year by prior notice; the 5-year placement itself is not transferable or for resale.

Where is the yurt?
Ardroil, Uig, Isle of Lewis (Outer Hebrides), near dramatic dunes and beaches. Exact details are provided in your booking confirmation.

What’s included in the stay?
A private, insulated yurt with en-suite shower/compost loo, wood stove, beds and basic furnishings, fire pit/picnic space. Off-grid power and water systems are in place. Bedding and a starter pack of firewood are provided. A wood-fired sauna is planned later, but not guaranteed in Year 1.

What’s around the yurt site?
The yurt sits on a working croft. Behind it, there’s a netted quail aviary with an integrated solar array that powers the site. It doesn’t sit between the yurt and the dunes/sea, and it’s set back more than 10m from the accommodation. The birds are quiet and the panels are silent. For safety and biosecurity, the aviary isn’t open to guests.

Is this gambling?
No. This is a UK skills-based prize promotion with a free entry route and a qualifying question. It is run in line with UK advertising rules for promotions.

What happens if it becomes impossible to deliver the prize?
The prize is guaranteed. Only if delivery becomes impossible or unlawful due to events outside our control (e.g., site loss, long-term incapacity, legal prohibition) will we award an Alternative Award of £1,500 per winner and refund that winner’s own ticket spend (up to £240). Commercial reasons or undersubscription are not grounds to substitute.

Will you publish the winners?
We may publish winners’ first name and county and/or share images with consent. You can request winners’ details by emailing us within 30 days of the draw.

How do Founders differ from prize winners?
Founders are a limited number of people who purchase a guaranteed 5-year placement (25 nights/year). They’re outside the promotion and have their own terms. If you’re interested, see “Founders” in the menu.

How will you use my data?
